Andrew C.L. Sims, K.C. is one of Canada’s most respected labour and employment arbitrators, with decades of experience resolving labour relations, workplace, employment, administrative, governance, and complex regulatory disputes. Based in Edmonton, Andrew is a senior arbitrator and member of the Alberta Academy of Mediators & Arbitrators, widely recognized for his deep expertise in labour arbitration, administrative justice, and complex adjudicative matters.

Andrew is a former Professor of Law at the University of Alberta and served as Chair of the Alberta Labour Relations Board for more than 25 years, where he presided over significant labour, employment, union, and workplace disputes involving both public and private sector organizations. He has also held numerous leadership roles in labour law reform, dispute resolution, and administrative governance across Canada.

Throughout his distinguished career, Andrew has acted as arbitrator, board chair, adjudicator, and neutral decision-maker in disputes involving collective agreements, labour relations, wrongful dismissal, workplace governance, professional regulation, public sector matters, human rights, and administrative law.
